Biosketch and research interests

I earned an MSc in Computational Biomedicine from the University of Southern Denmark in 2022 working with metabolomics workflow optimization at the Laboratory of Molecular Metabolism and Metabolomics. Currently, I am a PhD student at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Southern Denmark working on the Islet Cartography project in MadLab.

The Islet Cartography project is aiming to provide a multi-layered map of the islets of Langerhans combining the transcriptome, epigenome, and electrophysical state of the cell types in the islets. My focus in the project is the epigenome layer, studying the imputation and integration of single-cell ATAC-seq data as well as deconvoluting bulk ATAC-seq data. This project will deepen our understanding of the pathogenesis of type-2-diabetes and facilitate the discovery of new targets for drug development.
