Biosketch and vision
I hold a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Southern Denmark, completed in August 2024. I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the MadLab group at the same department and institution. My doctoral research spanned both wet-lab and dry-lab work, focusing on single-cell multiomic techniques applied to islets of Langerhans from mice. As a researcher, I am motivated by a desire to engage in work that is meaningful, while prioritizing transparency, organization, and reproducibility in research practices. As a Postdoc, I continue to explore islet biology and type 2 diabetes through my work on the collaborative Islet Cartography project. My current research involves collecting and integrating publicly available single-cell transcriptomic datasets, along with multi-modal data integration. This effort will contribute to the aim of the Islet Cartography project: creation of a comprehensive map that combines various data modalities, serving as a resource for the broader scientific community, paving the way for new discoveries in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and other pancreas related diseases.
